LLC FIELD NOTES / A PRACTICAL WORKING GUIDE
01
Scope the invitation
Explain the challenge, the expected level of finish, and the review criteria. Avoid asking for production-ready work when the task is exploratory.
- Define deliverables and estimated effort.
- Specify eligibility and the review window.
- Keep speculative scope outside the invitation.
02
Agree the terms first
Completion fees, continuation work, and usage rights are different things. Make each explicit in the agreement before anyone starts.
- State completion and continuation amounts separately.
- Agree when invoices and payments are due.
- Clarify ownership and permission to use concepts.
03
Give useful feedback
Review against the same brief, explain the decision, and close the loop with everyone who participated.
- Use a shared rubric for every response.
- Pay completed professional briefs under the agreed terms.
- Agree a new scope before further development.
