Operations / System explainer / 5 min read
Before the automation, the permission.
A useful connected system knows whose work it is doing, what it may access, and which actions need a human decision.
LLC FIELD NOTES / A PRACTICAL WORKING GUIDE
01
Begin with identity
Access belongs to a person and a workspace. Keep those boundaries explicit rather than treating a shared integration as permission to do everything.
- Identify the workspace and acting user.
- Choose the smallest useful scope.
- Record who can grant or revoke access.
02
Separate reading from acting
Reading context, drafting a change, and publishing it have different consequences. Give each a deliberate permission boundary.
- Start with read-only context.
- Review drafts before external actions.
- Require approval for publishing or sending.
03
Make the result reviewable
A trustworthy workflow leaves a useful record. Show what was requested, what was allowed, and what actually happened.
- Record the input and permission decision.
- Link approval to the resulting action.
- Provide a clear revoke and recovery path.
Make it a working documentKeep the questions.
